Mrs. Marjorie A. Marasigan, joined CREDIT MFI in August 2006 as an Advisor under Technical Assistance provided for by World Relief Cambodia. Mrs. Marasigan has 18 years of experience in the microfinance industry, community organizing/development and micro-enterprise development. Before joining CREDIT, she served the United Nation’s Development Programme (UNDP) in the South Pacific region for 8 consecutive years as Project Manager/MFI Capacity Building Specialist and institutionalized the first MFI in Vanuatu, South Pacific. During her term with UNDP she also assisted in other UNDP regional microfinance projects in countries such as Fiji Islands, Solomon Islands and Niue. She also did microfinance consultancy services in the Philippines and Australia. Her microfinance expertise was rooted in the Philippines, her home country, having worked as one of the pioneering staff of the Center for Agriculture and Rural Development (CARD) Inc. She contributed tremendous groundwork in the establishment of CARD’s first branches in island provinces of the Philippines to reach self sufficiency during her 8 years of service. Mrs Marasigan has a Degree of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration as well as microfinance, rural/micro-enterprise development courses/training in the Philippines and overseas.
